Audiology is the study of hearing disorders and the rehabilitation of those with hearing impairments. An audiologist is a professional who specializes in the identification, testing, habilitation/rehabilitation, and counseling of hearing loss. Audiologists test the hearing of infants, children, adults and the geriatric population. They are extensively trained in the fitting of hearing aids, as well as assistive listening devices.
