Visiting Hours
During Labor
You may identify one support person who will have unlimited access
throughout your labor process. Other visitors will be limited based on the safety and treatment
of the laboring mother.
After Giving Birth
New dads are welcome to visit at any time. General visiting hours are from noon to 8 p.m. Siblings of the newborn may visit during general visiting hours. Siblings must be accompanied by an adult (other than the patient) at all times and remain in the patient's room so other patients are not disturbed.
Grandparents' special visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to noon. No children under the age of 12 except siblings of the newborn are permitted.
Please note: Visitors must always wash their hands prior to handling the newborn.
Amenities
Visitors and family can wait in our beautiful, new waiting area outside of our postpartum unit in the Lakefront Tower. Just around the corner from the waiting area and maternal child health services units is the hospital's new Roma Bank Garden Café. The Café offers a wide selection of meals and goodies to satisfy any appetite. Our comfortable seating area has three-story windows overlooking the Christy Stephenson Grounds For Healing® garden. In the Café we've provided two flat-panel big screen televisions to catch up on the latest news while you are waiting.
Inside the labor and delivery unit, the pantry is a mini kitchenette that is shared by the maternal
child health services unit. In the pantry area, patients and visitors can access complimentary hot
and cold beverages, a refrigerator, a microwave oven and a coffee maker. The pantry is accessible
24 hours a day.
Television and telephone usage is free of charge throughout your stay. Our postpartum units are
equipped with brand new, flat-panel televisions. The telephone is turned on at the patient's
request and allows the use of incoming (local and long distance) calls. Outgoing long distance
calls may be made with your personal calling card.
Our Jacuzzi tub is available to assist in the relaxation and pain management of labor patients.
