Deborah L. Toppmeyer, MD

Medical Director, The LIFE Center at CINJ
Deborah L. Toppmeyer, MD, is board certified in internal medicine and oncology. She serves as medical director of the LIFE Center at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) in New Brunswick. She is a professor of medicine at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. Her specialties include breast oncology and cancer risk assessment.
Dr. Toppmeyer received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, and her bachelor degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Award of Hope for Leadership in Patient Care from the Cancer Institute of New Jersey Foundation (2006) and the Spirit of Jane Rodney Award from the Susan G. Komen Foundation (2005).
Her research includes breast cancer; phase I clinical trials of new anti-cancer agents with correlative pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies; genetic susceptibility for breast cancer and ovarian cancer; and women's health issues.
