Senior Programs

Registration is required for all programs, unless otherwise stated. Some programs and classes require a fee to attend.

Counseling

Medicare Counseling
Free Medicare counseling through State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). Individual appointments available with trained volunteers for unbiased, accurate, current information.

Health Screenings

Screenings
Glucose, Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Screenings are held every Thursday. Fasting for 12 hours before the test is necessary for accurate results. This test consists of cholesterol fractionation, which includes HDL and LDL and a Glucose test. Registration is required. Fee: $15. One time each year, 50+ club members can pay a discounted rate of $10 when they present their 50+ member card.

Senior Programs & Classes

50+ Club Walkers
Members of this enthusiastic group meet in Veterans Park six days a week and walk their way to good health and good times. How to become 50+ Club Walkers?

50+ Club Knitters
The newest addition to our 50+ Club community meets every Wednesday morning at the Center for Health & Wellness in Classroom 4, 10 am to 12 noon. Club members knit caps for newborns, articles for patients at Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton and other projects. Experienced knitters as well as novices are welcome; the club's more skilled members are happy to share their knowledge and provide instruction.

50+ Bridge Club
If you enjoy playing bridge, have basic knowledge of the game and point system, this club is for you! The club meets every Friday from 12:30 - 3:30 PM. For more information, please call 609-584-5900.

Medication Brown Bag Day
This event is held several times throughout the year. Bring in all medication that you are taking both prescription and over-the-counter. You will meet one-on-one with Alex Kardos, Director of Pharmacy at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. Registration is required.

The AARP Driving Course
The program is a two-day classroom taught course designed to improve your driving skills. You must attend both days to earn your completion certificate. After you complete this course, you will not only be a safer and better driver, but also you may be able to lower your automobile insurance costs as well. Registration is required. Fee: $10.00.
