RWJ Hamilton Celebrates Junior Volunteers' Service
Plainsboro's Shefali Madhusudhan Recognized for 428 Volunteer Hours

HAMILTON, NEW JERSEY - Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton recently celebrated the contributions of its junior volunteers with a dinner held at the RWJ Hamilton Center for Health & Wellness. The junior volunteers serve many hospital departments during their summer months while between ages 14 through 17. This year, 90 junior volunteers were honored for their collective 8,972 hours of service to the hospital during their teen years.

Shefali Madhusudhan was recently honored for her 428 hours of volunteer service with the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton summer Junior Volunteer program. Shefalie resides in Plainsboro, NJ and is a senior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in Princeton Junction, NJ.

Shefali Madhusudhan, a resident of Plainsboro, NJ, who is a senior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in Princeton Junction, NJ, was presented with an award honoring her contributions to the program. Her combined 428 hours of service accumulated over the course of three years were the most by any junior volunteer.

"Shefali has been a real asset to RWJ Hamilton's Junior Volunteer program as well as to the departments in which she's volunteered," says Kathy Gabel, Coordinator of RWJ Hamilton's Volunteer Services. "She is always very eager to help in any capacity and appreciates the chance to observe and contribute to the ways that RWJ Hamilton serves the needs of its patients."

During three consecutive summers, Shefali volunteered in RWJ Hamilton's maternity unit and OB-GYN practice, information desk, human resources department, and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton.
